Georgia Lockwood-Estrin
Georgia’s research interests lie at the interface between cognitive neuroscience and public health. She is particularly interested in the translation of neuroscientific methods into global mental health in order to improve the detection of developmental disorders. She is a Sir Henry Wellcome post-doc fellow, and her work focuses on establishing the ability, feasibility and acceptability of using portable eye-tracking technology to identify children at risk of Autism Spectrum Disorders in low-income contexts, specifically in India.
Prior to working at the CBCD, she was a Senior Research Associate in the Section for Women’s Mental Health, IoPPN, KCL, and a Research Fellow in the Centre for Global Mental Health at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM). Her PhD, at Imperial College London, focused on investigating the neurodevelopment of foetuses and infants at risk of developmental disorders using Diffusion Tensor Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
