Narain Kumar Viswanathan
Narain is a doctoral researcher funded by the European Research Council, and supervised by Dr Sam Wass and Dr Louise Goupil. Their research will explore the relationship between spontaneous imitation, affective perception, and neuronal entrainment; investigating the mechanisms by which they interact with each other, and their influence on human communication.
Narain holds a first-class honours degree in Psychology from the National University of Ireland Galway and an MSc in Human Cognitive Neuropsychology from the University of Edinburgh. Prior to moving towards research, Narain practised as a counselling psychologist in Bangalore. Narain also holds a diploma in counselling skills accredited by the World Federation of Mental Health.
