Zeynep Suata

Zeynep was a PhD student co-supervised by Prof Sam Wass and funded by a student scholarship from the Turkish Ministry of Education. Her PhD project was based at King’s College London (Child & Adolescent Psychiatry) in collaboration with the UEL Baby Development Lab. In her PhD research, Zeynep aimed to explore how the behavioural and physiological responses of babies to emotional situations evolved from 6 months to 12 months of age, and how these responses dynamically fluctuated over a short period of time.

During her PhD, Zeynep enjoyed engaging in teaching and mentoring activities and worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in King’s BSc Psychology program.

Prior to her PhD, Zeynep attained a master’s degree in Neuropsychology from the University of Bristol. Her master’s dissertation examined the genetic and environmental links between well-being and sleep quality in adolescents using twin modelling. Zeynep completed her BA in Turkey at Hacettepe University, where she achieved First-Class Honours in Psychology.
